An Important Message To Our Community About Hurricane Irma

Dear Family Member, Responsible Party, Signature Community;

We continue to follow the most recent developments of Hurricane Irma very closely.  At the present time, Irma remains a Category 5.  The storm is expected to make landfall along the south-eastern Florida coast on Sunday morning with the potential for heavy rains, very high winds, and flooding.

At this time, we plan to shelter in place at Signature HealthCARE of Port Charlotte and at these Signature HealthCARE Florida locations: College Park, Heritage Park, Golfview, Pinellas Park, Peninsula, Southern Pines, Kenilworth, Winter Park, Brookwood Gardens, Waterford, Anchor Care, Ormond, Orange Park, Jacksonville, Gainesville, and Surrey, as current projected conditions suggest Tropical Storm force winds and 4-6″ of rain.

This event is projected to be significant causing extensive damage to certain counties particularly in South Florida.

If an evacuation order is given for your county, we encourage you to follow all recommendations, as we will. We have activated our emergency management plans and have secured supplies for all of our Florida properties.

We have been asked to evacuate Golfcrest Healthcare Center in Hollywood and will begin transferring our staff and residents to our Signature of Palm Beach location the morning of Friday, September 8.  The phone number for Signature of Palm Beach is 561-969-1400.

We have also been asked to evacuate our Gulfport Rehabilitation Center in Pasadena. We will begin transferring our staff and residents to Peninsula Care & Rehab Center the morning of Friday, September 8. The phone number for Peninsula Care & Rehab Center is 727-934-0876.

We ask that you continue to watch the weather in your community and take all weather alerts seriously and be prepared.  Our dedicated staff are trained in emergency procedures and safety remains our primary concern.

As with any storm, we run the risk of losing power and phone service in our buildings.  Our Toll-Free Weather Hotline 888-743-9404 will be available through the end of this weather event.  I will continue to update the hotline message periodically keeping you informed of the conditions in our buildings as I have new information available.

Be prepared, Be safe.

God Bless,

Kim Morrow
